Recently, someone asked me where my confidence stems from. They had a hard time understanding how I never lose my cool in the face of obstacles that seem impossible to overcome, how I can maintain a straight poker-face in a room with billionaires grilling us on what makes our business model special, and how I continue to predict what’s going to happen next…
The answer is simple. Work so hard that you inspire the haters, doubters, and pessimists to start believing in you. Confidence doesn’t come from counting my victories, and it doesn’t go away when my personal bank account is negative because I reinvested every dollar that comes in (grr to the Spotify $79.99 charge that caused me to overdraft).⠀
The AKG confidence — that my team appreciates — comes from one single thought. I must do the unthinkable, the unimaginable, and the impossible every day, or my day is wasted. I never let the haters, doubters, and pessimists impact my will to overcome obstacles — seriously, how could they affect me? I am so focused that when I finally stop to look around, I realize that I’m so far ahead of the competition I’ve earned time to appreciate the view while standing tall in my own two shoes. Don’t worry, just because I’m taking a second to look around, and I am never going to slow down. This journey just hit a milestone — and with every ounce of confidence in my soul, I can say that I called it. The epic movement and my team are just getting warmed up.
